Cookies

As part of a change in the law in May 2011 websites now have to make all users aware of what cookies they use and give users the ability to opt in/out. Subsonic does this via the information on this page.

Subsonic uses a limited amount of cookies to help improve your experience of the site. Almost all websites will use cookies which in simple terms are a very small text file that is stored on your computer so that when you access the website it will remember you and any settings you might have stored previously.

This website uses the following types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of a website. They include, for example, cookies that enable users to log into secure areas of a website, use a shopping cart or make use of e-billing services.

Analytical/performance cookies. These types of cookies allow providers to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around their website when they are using it. This assists providers in improving the way their website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily. We use Google Analytics, the industry standard analytics that gives us statistics on how much traffic the website is getting.

Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise users when they return to a website. They enable the personalisation of content, the recognition of users and remember user preferences (for example, their choice of language or region).

Targeting cookies. These cookies record a user's visit to a website, the individual pages visited and the links followed. If the cookie is set by a third party (for example, an advertising network) which also monitors traffic on other websites, this type of cookies may also be used to track a user's movements across different website and to create profiles of their general online behaviour. Information collected by tracking cookies is commonly used to serve users with targeted online advertising.

IMPORTANT NOTE: cookies CANNOT access information stored elsewhere on your computer or cause any harm. They are not programs or software and are simply a plain text file. They also cannot be accessed by any other website other than the one that created it.

You may delete and block all cookies from this site using the preferences of your browser if you so wish, but be aware parts of the site will no longer work if you do this.

Please note that third parties (including, for example, advertising networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services) may also use cookies, over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.

If you would like more information about cookies and how to manage and delete them you can visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org
